Summary:It is an indisputable fact that the institutions of higher education have contributions not only to the land’s socio-cultural development but also to its economic development. In agriculture-based, not industrialized local economies in which the tourism hasn’t developed either, the institutions of higher education are a tool to revive the economy. In this study, setting out from the contributions of the vocational schools of higher education to the local economy, it has been intended to find out the contribution of Selcuk University Akoren Ali Rıza Ercan Vocational School of Higher Education to the county in which it is based, by examining the consumption expenditure of its students. A multiplier coefficient is obtained by applying a survey on 288 students in the first and second classes of business management, accounting and tax practices, foreign trade, electronic technology and computer programming departments via the method in which the interview (survey) methodology of qualitative methods is used. Data analysis is evaluated using SPSS statistical analysis package program. The results of the study will be reported in full text since the data analysis of the study is carrying on.
