Summary: | A 24GHz Voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) was designed and fabricated in 90nm CMOS tech- nology. New features of this VCO include a tail current source to reduce the power consumption and a noise fil- ter to prevent phase noise degradation. Measurement of the finished chip shows that it has a tuning range of 22.5- 26.3GHz (16.9%) and achieves a phase noise performance of -103dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset. The entire circuit of VCO with output buffer consumes 8mA current from 1.2V power supply. The FOM of the VCO is -180dB. |
