Summary:The overall aim of this thesis is to investigate to what extend access to justice is obtained in Chinese environmental disputes from the perspective of pollution victims in the. By investigating dispute settlement process and outcome of six environmental disputes in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the thesis provides a comprehensive evaluation on this subject. The findings in this thesis indicate that a number of structural, political, scientific and financial obstacles impends Chinese pollution victims from obtaining access to justice. The thesis account for recent development in the China which possible could alleviate pollution victims in overcoming various obstacles in the process of obtaining access to justice. In conclusion the thesis argues that structural and political changes are vital to improve pollution victims chances of obtaining access to justice.
