Description
Summary:The Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) Technical Group has decided to update its Technology Roadmap from 2011 and to present this new roadmap at the 5th CSLF Ministerial Meeting in Houston, USA in November 2013. Norway has taken the editorial and coordinating responsibility for the new roadmap. A steering committee ensures review, contributions and recommendations from the rest of the Technical Group. SINTEF has been engaged by the editor to contribute with the present CCS status report as a background document for the roadmap. The report summarizes the status with respect to large scale CCS demonstration projects and the technological status of the different parts of the CCS chain (capture, transport and storage). Included is also CCS in industrial application and the use of CO2 for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The most important technological barriers for large-scale deployment of CCS are discussed, as well as the most significant technological aspects that can really reduce those barriers.
