Coil shape of a perfect superconducting sextupole magnet
It is well known that a coil shape generated by two overlapping ellipses produces the perfect dipole magnetic field. Similarly, a coil shape generated by two perpendicular and concentric intersecting ellipses produces the perfect quadrupole field. However, for a sextupole no such coil shape is avail...

Summary: | It is well known that a coil shape generated by two overlapping ellipses produces the perfect dipole magnetic field. Similarly, a coil shape generated by two perpendicular and concentric intersecting ellipses produces the perfect quadrupole field. However, for a sextupole no such coil shape is available in the literature. We give here a coil shape for generating the perfect sextupolar magnetic field. |
