Copolymers of methyl methacrylate and acrylate comonomers: Synthesis and characterization
Methyl methacrylate (MMA) has been copolymerized with n‐butyl acrylate (n‐BA), ethyl acrylate (EA), and 2‐ethylhexyl acrylate (2‐EHA) in solution at 70°C using benzoyl peroxide as free radical initiator. The copolymer composition was estimated by the 1H‐NMR spectroscopic technique. The copolymers we...

Summary: | Methyl methacrylate (MMA) has been copolymerized with n‐butyl acrylate (n‐BA), ethyl acrylate (EA), and 2‐ethylhexyl acrylate (2‐EHA) in solution at 70°C using benzoyl peroxide as free radical initiator. The copolymer composition was estimated by the 1H‐NMR spectroscopic technique. The copolymers were further characterized by IR, XRD, TGA, DTA, DSC, GPC, and solubility. The adhesive characteristics of the copolymers to cellulosic substrate are also reported. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. |
