Front Cover: Chemical Constituents from Aerial Parts of Baccharis sphenophylla and Effects against Intracellular Forms of Trypanosoma cruzi (Chem. Biodiversity 10/2021)

Front Cover. The chromatographic fractionation of the hexane extract from Baccharis sphenophylla afforded the isolation of seven compounds including the unreported 7α‐hydroxy‐ent‐abieta‐8(14),13(15)‐dien‐16,12β‐olide (1) and the phenylpropanoid derivative hexacosyl p‐coumarate (7). Screening for bio...

Description
Summary:Front Cover. Screening for bioactivity against intracellular amastigotes of the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi revealed compounds 1 and 7 as 10‐fold more active to the parasite in relation to mammalian cells, indicating that such compounds could be used as prototypes for the development of new drugs against Chagas disease as reported by M. L. Silva et al. in their full paper at 10.1002/cbdv.202100466.
