Description
Summary:Four eyes see more than two: Operando EPR, XANES/EXAFS, ATR‐IR, and UV/Vis spectroscopy have been coupled in the same experiment to complete the mechanistic puzzle in selective aerobic alcohol oxidation by a copper‐TEMPO catalyst. The reaction is driven by a single CuI/CuII redox cycle that activates O2 with the help of TEMPO. Dimeric CuII–CuII species have no catalytic impact since they dissolve in the early stage of the reaction without activity loss. More information can be found in the Full Paper by J. Rabeah, V. Briois, A. Brückner, et al. on page 7395.
