Summary: | The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach was used to simulate the gas‐solid flow in the carbonation section of a circulating fluidized bed designed by the National Energy Technology Laboratory for carbon capture. The extent of the carbon dioxide adsorption using particle‐supported amine sorbents was simulated using a two‐dimensional reactive CFD model. This study showed not only the predictive capability of our reacting CFD, but also the potential high carbon capture rate by solid sorbents using fluidized bed technology. |
