Description
Summary:The basic characters of the mean distribution of the sodium layer over Wuhan, China are obtained on the basis of large amount of sodium fluorescence lidar observation data. The model calculation indicates that the latitudinal variation of the minor species in the atmosphere seems to be the reason resulting in the latitudinal dependence of the sodium layer mean distribution. The seasonal variation of the sodium layer mean distribution is given. The analysis of the time evolution of the sodium layer mean distribution indicates that its short period variations are correlated with the activities of gravity wave, while its nocturnal variations are correlated with the activities of tide wave.
