Summary: | The earth's filtering response to seismic wave propagation can be approximated by variable Q attenuation and is dispersive or minimum phase. A model to compensate earth filtering is developed based on the wavelet packet decomposition. According to the model, a new method to compensate earth filtering is presented. The step of the method is: firstly, decompose seismic wave into difference frequency band; then, according to the model of compensating earth filtering to find attenuation coefficients of every frequency component; thirdly, every wavelet packet decomposition coefficients are divided by attenuation coefficients, and finally reconstruct seismic wave from modified frequency component to compensate earth filtering. |
