Summary: | The Front Cover emphasizes the importance of molecular guest exchange in a biomimetic molecular vase. The system presents a calix[6]arene core open to the solvent, with, at the level of its small rim, a paramagnetic CoII ion. The smart ligand design allows the metal ion to be firmly bound to a polydentate aza core, while preserving one coordination site dedicated to guest binding. Such a design allows the binding, release and thus exchange of a variety of guest molecules, which are reversibly entrapped in the hydrophobic pocket and coordinated by the CoII metal ion. More information can be found in the Research Article by A, Višnjevac, O. Reinaud and co‐workers. |
