Summary:Unhindered polyalkoxylated primary amines, upon treatment with an equimolar equivalent of formalde hyde, cyclized quantitatively to afford perhydro‐1,3,5‐s‐triazines. This sereis of derivatives, based upon primary amine terminated poly(propylene and butylene oxides), possessed a molecular weight range of 1,900–5,800. Structure confirmation was accomplished by gel permeation chromatography and 2D nmr spectroscopy methods.
