Description
Summary:The importance of visuality in tourism has increased the number of studies that situate photography into the discourse of visual images. However, the majority of studies continue to be qualitative research. This paper highlights how visual research in tourism has not yet widened the scope of research and has overlooked a variety of photographic content that has the potential to inform other important aspects of visuality in tourism research. It attempts to make a particular contribution to tourism visual research by bridging the research gaps in the relevant tourism literature through corroborating innovative approaches from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.
