Description
Summary:This work deals with the mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of fiber dynamics as it occurs in the practical application of melt‐spinning processes of nonwoven materials. The description of the fiber‐flow interactions is based on the usage of standard models and commercial packages for the air flow, specific asymptotic approaches for the fiber dynamics and the inclusion of momentum and heat exchange between fibers and fluid flow. Promising simulation results are shown for an industrial situation. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
