Uniform Slip Flow on a Cylinder

Description
Summary:In this paper, we determine the shear stress along the entire length of a stationary cylinder having radius a, under uniform axisymmetric flow, with velocity U0, in the slip regime. Investigating motion at small and large axial distances, we employ asymptotic series techniques to obtain the shear stress coefficient in non‐dimensional form. For intermediate regions, we obtain a solution using the Rayleigh approximation method. (© 2010 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
