Description
Summary:The neotypification of Loranthus spicatus proposed by Job Kuijt in 1976 is analysed. The previously proposed neotype was found to disagree with the original concept of this species, which was adopted from the original publication in 1760 until 1964. Tabula 68 published in Selectarum stirpium americanarum historia in 1763 is proposed as lectotype. To further aid the correct application of this name, we also propose an epitype.
