Summary: | Surveys of the insects attacking common purslane Portulaca oleracea were carried out in Trinidad and other locations in the Caribbean and South America to assess their potential for biological control of this weed in Papua New Guinea. Host-range studies were conducted on two of these insects, and several species are recommended for further investigations and eventual release in countries where Po. oleracea is a serious weed. |
