Description
Summary:Kinetics of scavenging of hydrated electron[formula]by hexadecylpyridinium chloride has been studied by pulse radiolysis in cationic micellar solutions of alkyltrimethylammonium halides. The results are interpreted in terms of intermicellar transport of[formula]and the mean time parameter characterizing the process is estimated for micelles of different size and counterion. The behavior of[formula]is compared to that observed for iodide ion in fluorescence quenching experiments.
