Determination of Surface Acidity of Aggregate by Thermometric Titration

The surface acidities of mineral aggregate powders were determined by means of thermometric titration in toluene using butylamine as titrant. The heats of titration decrease linearly as the titration proceeds. The acidity of the samples was fairly small, 3.5-38 μmol g -1 or 1.8-8.6 μmol m -2.
