Study of Cephalexin and Cefaclor Adsorption at the Mercury/Solution Interface by AC Polarography

Summary: | The adsorptive properties of Cephalexin (Cef), Cefaclor (Cfx), and 7-aminodesacetoxycephalosporanic acid (7-ADCA) were examined by applying phase sensitive ac polarography with DME in order to compare the behavior of their molecules at a mercury electrode. To find optimal conditions for the distinct adsorption effects and to determine the ionic species participating in adsorption, the influence of pH and concentration (concerning electrical double layer characteristics at the mercury/solution interface) was studied. |
