Summary: | A 47 year old man had a ten year history of intestinal bleeding due to arteriovenous malformation of the distal ileum. Selective angiography is the most reliable technique for the diagnosis of the lesion and a correct diagnosis was not made until th selective superior mesenteric arteriography was done after repetitive laparotomy and intestinal resection. Transcatheter embolization was transiently successful. This case seemed to belong to type 2 according to Moore's classification and was probably of congenital origin. |
