Description
Summary:This paper presents a spectral analysis system for the measurement of solar ultraviolet B over long durations. The proposed system provides high resolution at low cost in a highly robust and flexible format. We obtained information pertaining to the absolute irradiance of sunlight in a fixed location with the aim of identifying the best period in which to seek exposure to the sun with regard to maximizing the synthesis of vitamin D while minimizing damage to the skin. This study also provides a means of establishing a database for the development of healthy lamp technology.
