Description
Summary:A multifactor approach for assessing drought risk at spatial and temporal scales is proposed in this paper, which considers both the relative influence of different factors and the historic drought in the case study of Phu Yen province, where historical drought has been a significant problem that has impacted the priority of agriculture. The Drought Risk Index (DRI) was developed to serve as an indicator of drought. The geographical information of numerous contributing elements is divided into thirteen sub-classes. Extreme drought land represents 6.13% of the total area and is influenced by some environmental variables, such as the maximum temperature of the warmest month (> 30 °C), annual mean temperatures (> 24 °C), land surface temperature (> 31 °C), yearly potential evapotranspiration (> 153 mm), annual precipitation ( 35%), and mean monthly precipitation amount of the driest quarter (
