Summary: | The utilisation of nanomaterial in concrete is the newest technology in Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) especially in the introduction of slim design, massive reduction in steel elements and superior compressive strength. In this research, the role of UHPC was compared with the addition of 10% metakaolin and 1%, 3% and 5% inclusion of nano metakaolin and nano metaclay as nano-engineered material (NEM). The effect of NEM was evaluated in the forms of physical properties, elementary, workability, strength and morphology properties and compared to the conventional UHPC at day 3, 28 and 365Â days. It can be concluded that nanomaterials increase the surface area of UHPC but reduce the setting analysis. The chemical constituents of nano materials were recorded with a high percentage of Silica and Alumina which can create good pozzolanic material. The introduction of nanomaterial enhanced the strength properties of UHPC. |
