Open problems in the theory of microwave heating

The microwave heating is quite important in industrial applications. This paper presents a justification to the presence of the so-called hotspots in the specimen to be heated. Crucial is the ratio k e l e c t r i c c o n d u c t i v i t y m i c r o w a v e e n e r g y a b s o r p t i o n , ( k a di...

Description
Summary:The microwave heating is quite important in industrial applications. This paper presents a justification to the presence of the so-called hotspots in the specimen to be heated. Crucial is the ratio k e l e c t r i c c o n d u c t i v i t y m i c r o w a v e e n e r g y a b s o r p t i o n , ( k a dimensional constant). Also the closely related problem of the divergence in a finite time of the temperature is examined.
