Summary: | Short term surveys of rainfall acidity in the U.K., are carried out annually at a very large number of sites throughout the country. The widely distributed and large number of continuing observations provide a unique set of data on spatial variability of rainfall pH. While simple techniques are employed, the data confirm the observations made in other surveys that there is a gradient of increasing acidity from west to east. |
