Description
Summary:Self-instructional procedures differing in the timing and semantic content of the self-directed message were contrasted using severe fingernail biting as the target behavior. Treated subjects evidenced greater increments in nail length than untreated subjects at both post-treatment and follow-up assessments. A significant contingency effect was present at the time of the follow-up.
