Summary: | The porous structure of the solid mesophase and products of its heat treatment were studied. The mesophase was prepared from coal tar pitch, both by intensive stirring in the dispersed form and under quiescent conditions in the bulk form. The character of porous structure of the solid mesophase was derived from its lamellar arrangement, where the interlamellar spaces may be defined as micropores. The carbonized mesophase obtained from the stirred mesophase pitch acquires, after activation, the textural properties of a carbon sorbent. |
