Summary: | Some definitions and mathematical notions useful in the analysis and synthesis of relaxed control as applied to asynchronous quenching and dynamical optimization are given. Existence and nonexistence of proper relaxed steady states are discussed. An example, a continuous stirred tank reactor, is analyzed with respect to convexity of the velocity set, stability etc. Finally, the role of convex velocity sets in dynamical optimization is discussed, and suggestions for the synthesis of chattering feed back controllers are given. |
