Variational principle for the correction of the third order energy in perturbation theory
The variational method for the calculation of the third-order correction without using the correction function of the first order is suggested. ϵ 3 in 1/ Z expansions for two-electron atoms are calculated. The method of evaluating the lower bound for ϵ 3 is described.
