Description
Summary:The asymmetric line shapes observed in the electron resonance spectra of paramagnetic probes dissolved in a nematic mesophase are interpreted in terms of thermal fluctuations in the director. The magnitude of these fluctuations, determined by an analysis of the line shape, is in good agreement with theoretical estimates based on continuum theory.
