Summary: | A photoelectron spectroscopy study on resonantly enhanced multiphoton dissociative ionization of molecular hydrogen in a three-photon excitation scheme is reported. Measurements indicate two different dissociation processes. In one process the molecule is first ionized and subsequently dissociated, whereas in the other process the molecule is first dissociated after which one of the fragments is ionized. For the B1 σ+u(v' = 8) band both processes take place, whereas for the B1 σ+u(v' = 9,10,11) bands only the latter process is observed. |
