Spin-changing collisions in the Ca(4s5p 1P 1) + He system
The cross section for the process Ca (4s5p 1P 1) +He → Ca(4s5p 3P) +He at thermal energies has been calculated as a function of the initial alignment of the Ca(4s5p 1P 1) state. Calculations are in reasonable agreement with experimental data.
