Resonant and near-resonant charge transfer reactions of gaseous organic ions
Cross sections have been measured for the charge transfer reactions of organic ions in keV collisions with pyrrole target molecules. These cross sections, for symmetric C 4H 5N +-C 4H 5N reactions, are ≈80 Å 2. Cross sections computed using a simple resonant charge transfer model are in approximate...

2. Cross sections computed using a simple resonant charge transfer model are in approximate accord with experimental values for the symmetric reaction. Cross sections for several asymmetric reactions are as large as those for the resonant system. The magnitudes of these asymmetric cross sections are correlated with reaction energy defects. |
