Diode laser spectroscopy of the MnD radical ( 7Σ) and the determination of mass-independent parameters

The infrared spectrum of the manganese deuteride radical has been observed in its ground electronic state ( 7Σ) using a diode-laser spectrometer. The hyperfine structure of a number of infrared transitions in the bands ν=1←0, ν=2←1 and ν=3←2 were measured with a nominal accuracy of ±0.001 cm −1. In...

Description
Summary:The infrared spectrum of the manganese deuteride radical has been observed in its ground electronic state ( 7Σ) using a diode-laser spectrometer. The hyperfine structure of a number of infrared transitions in the bands ν=1←0, ν=2←1 and ν=3←2 were measured with a nominal accuracy of ±0.001 cm −1. In all cases, the complete structure was easily resolved. Dunham parameters, spin—rotation and spin—spin coupling parameters were determined from the MnD data. A simultaneous fit of these data with those determined previously for MnH was carried out to determine mass-independent parameters and mass-scaling coefficients.
