The spectral transmission of 0.4–4.5-μm of fire smokes

Measurements of the absorption coefficients in the spectral range 0.4–4.5 μm are reported for smokes from wood, agglomerate flax, polypropylene, and polyether foam in flaming or smouldering combustion. The effects of gaseous and particulate absorption are separately considered and discussed.
