Description
Summary:The question of choice of appropriate standard states for adsorbed phases at electrode interfaces is reviewed and examined in relation to solvent displacement and the Langmuir and Flory-Huggins types of adsorption isotherms. Comparison with the situation for gas/solid adsorption is made. Standard potentials for electrochemisorption are considered for electrochemical isotherms with and without interaction/heterogeneity terms.
