Description
Summary:The maximisation of agricultural yields has been related to the utilisation of pesticides and, as a result, herbicidal control of weeds has gathered momentum. In spite of the greater selectivity and minimum damage aimed at, herbicides have now been proved to act as ecological narcotics. In earlier works a damaging effect of 2,4-D with specific reference to brinjals was reported; the present paper deals with the variation in the susceptibility of pollens of a local variety of brinjal ( Solanum melongena Willd.) to four herbicides belonging to different chemical groups.
