Complexes of butadienyllithium oligomers with tetramethylethylenediamine and polymer microstructure in diamine modified butadiene polymerization
The effect of tetramethylethylenediamine on 2 one-unit butadiene anionic polymerization models has been studied in cyclopentane. Both were found to have a mixture of cis and trans allylic structures over a wide range of amine to lithium ratios. Polybutadiene microstructures were also determined. Hig...

Summary: | The effect of tetramethylethylenediamine on 2 one-unit butadiene anionic polymerization models has been studied in cyclopentane. Both were found to have a mixture of
cis and
trans allylic structures over a wide range of amine to lithium ratios. Polybutadiene microstructures were also determined. Highly 1,2-polybutadienes are formed at amine to lithium ratios considerably below unity. The results are compared with those obtained by use of 1,2-dipiperidinoethane which induces a higher fraction of
trans active centres and even higher 1,2 contents in polybutadiene. |
