Functionalization of poly(propylene ether carbonate)diols

Poly(propylene ether carbonate)diols have been functionalized by phosphorylation with dimethyl phosphonate (CH 3O) 2P(O)H. Two new functional groups PH and POCH 3 have been introduced into the macromolecules. The new functional groups, mainly P—H, allow the phosphorus-contaiing poly(propylene ether...

Description
Summary:Poly(propylene ether carbonate)diols have been functionalized by phosphorylation with dimethyl phosphonate (CH 3O) 2P(O)H. Two new functional groups PH and POCH 3 have been introduced into the macromolecules. The new functional groups, mainly P—H, allow the phosphorus-contaiing poly(propylene ether carbonate)s to participate in transesterification, alkylation (interaction with amines) and dealkylation (interaction with ammonium and metal salts). The structure of phosphorus-containing poly(propylene ether carbonate)diols is proved by 1H, and 13C-NMR and i.r. spectroscopy and also by elemental analysis for phosphorus.
