Description
Summary:The characterisation of a new fibre-forming hexahydrobenzodipyrrole polyamide is described from initial synthesis to tensile testing of filaments prepared under different conditions. Physical, solubility and fibre-spinning properties of the polymer are studied. Thermal properties are compared to those of a model compound and a commercial product. A satisfactory dope was prepared from which fibres were extruded by dry and wet spinning techniques.
