Description
Summary:That injected hematoporphyrin is accumulated by animal tumors has been verified. However, the hematoporphyrin was not found to enter the living tumor cells. White blood cells apparently adsorbed hematoporphyrin and any dead cells and cellular debris promptly absorbed it thus suggesting an explanation for its accumulation in tumors. The effect of X-rays on the Krebs 2 ascites carcinoma of mice was not enhanced by hematoporphyrin.
