Summary: | In an interconnected hydrocracking and pyrolysis unit, the effects of the conditions of hydrocracking of a petroleum vacuum distillate and of pyrolysis of a high-boiling hydrocracking product (temperature at the pyrolysis reactor outlet, feedstock rate and mass ratio of steam to pyrolysed raw material) on the yields of ethylene and other pyrolysis products were studied. Mathematical relations were derived from the experimental data, to allow reaction conditions giving maximum yields of the relevant pyrolysis products to be found. |
