Low-temperature storage for preventing changes in mineralizable nitrogen and sulphur during storage of airdry soils

Studies with 8 mineral soils showed that storage of air-dry samples at 1–3 °C for up to 12 weeks resulted in no significant changes in mineralizable nitrogen and sulphur (mineral-nitrogen and sulphate produced during aerobic incubation at 28°C for 3 weeks). Air-dry storage at room temperature (17–21...

Description
Summary:Studies with 8 mineral soils showed that storage of air-dry samples at 1–3 °C for up to 12 weeks resulted in no significant changes in mineralizable nitrogen and sulphur (mineral-nitrogen and sulphate produced during aerobic incubation at 28°C for 3 weeks). Air-dry storage at room temperature (17–21°C) significantly increased mineralizable nitrogen and sulphur with period of storage beyond 3 weeks.
