Boundary layers near the plane free boundary of a fluid caused by axisymmetrical tangential stresses

Summary: | Spatial steady-state flows of an incompressible fluid in the boundary layers near a free surface with specified surface tangential stresses are investigated. Under conditions of axial symmetry and assuming a plane free boundary, self-similar solutions of the three-dimensional equations of the boundary layer are constructed numerically. The asymptotic solutions for small and large values of the load are obtained. |
