High-temperature isopiestic studies on {(1 − y)Hg + y(1 − t)Bi + ytSn}( I) at 600 K. Comparison with the partial ideal-solution model

Description
Summary:The activities of Hg in {(1 − y)Hg + y(1 − t)Bi + ytSn} have been measured at 600 K using a high-temperature isopiestic technique. Each entire isopiestic curve of mercury was determined by only one experiment. The activities of Bi and Sn were calculated using an analytical procedure from the ternary isoactivity results and the selected thermodynamic values for the binary sub-systems {(1 − y)Hg + yBi}, {(1 − y)Hg + ySn}, and {(1 − t)Bi + tSn}. The results approximately fit the partial ideal-solution model proposed previously.
