Compressions of some nitriles under pressures up to 150 MPa at 298.15 K

Compressions k of propionitrile (PN), n-butyronitrile ( n-BN), isobutyronitrile ( i-BN), benzonitrile (BzN), and α-tolunitrile (α-TN) were measured at pressures up to 150 MPa at 298.15 K. The measured compressions were fitted to the Tait equation. Isothermal compressibilities κ T for nitriles at 0.1...

Description
Summary:Compressions k of propionitrile (PN), n-butyronitrile ( n-BN), isobutyronitrile ( i-BN), benzonitrile (BzN), and α-tolunitrile (α-TN) were measured at pressures up to 150 MPa at 298.15 K. The measured compressions were fitted to the Tait equation. Isothermal compressibilities κ T for nitriles at 0.1 MPa were determined from the Tait paramters. The κ T value at 0.1 MPa for nitriles decreases in the sequence: i-BN > PN > n-BN > BzN > α-TN.
