Summary: | A tandem supercritical fluid extraction—liquid chromatography system for determination of chlorinated phenols in various solid matrices is described. The system permitted direct introduction of supercritical fluid extracts into the liquid chromatograph, allowing quantitation down to the sub-parts per million (w/w) levels without any sample clean-up. The system performance compared favorably with the traditional methodologies in terms of both the analysis speed and the selectivity. |
