Summary:Ten sorbents (Tenax GC, Porapak R and S, Chromosorb 102 and 105, DVB-1,4-DMN, Separon SE, CHN and SDA, and Synachrom E5) were tested for (pre)concentration of acrylates present in air. From a study on the applicability and the conditions to be used for both thermal desorption and GC separation, as well as evaluation on the factors influencing these two steps, optimum conditions for both concentration and separation have been estimated. Practical applications of the method for the analysis of the working atmosphere are demonstrated.
